Auto-Calibration of Hochiki Devices
Summary We have found that a "COMP" error may be reported erroneously by ZX5Se panels during the auto-calibration of the Hochiki Multi-Sensor devices.
Systems affected This has been found on versions 857 and 858 of the panel fi rmware of a Zx5Se panel using Hochiki detectors including Multi-Sensors.
Issue Identifi ed A "COMP" error indicates a dirty detector and should be fl agged when the limit of drift compensation has been reached. It is generated for some MultiSensor devices which are actually clean during the automatic (daily scheduled) recalibration. The same devices do not report "COMP" error when the manual calibration is run.
Recommended Action Our recommendation is that the auto-calibration is turned off (by setting the time to 0:00) and that device calibration is carried out manually during the quarterly service visits.
Please note that calibration must be carried out periodically to ensure that the detectors are working within their approved limits. The increasing contamination level in each detector will still be monitored and fl agged as a warning if it builds up to a suffi ciently high level between service visits.
